The UK’s leading BBQ enthusiast site has seen a 220% increase in the amount of traffic to the site compared to this time last year, despite the fact that many are finding it difficult to get their hands on coal from leading hardware stores.
The UK’s leading BBQ enthusiast site www.iLoveMyBBQ.com has today revealed a 220% increase in traffic to the site compared to this time last year due to the sudden rise in temperature. There have also been complaints that big stores such as B&Q and Homebase are yet to bring out their BBQ stock, including accessories and charcoal, meaning that people are not able to fire up their grills.Â
These figures show that British consumers are thinking about having their barbecues earlier than normal, as the weather takes a turn for the better.Â
The site, which lists various BBQ drinks ideas as well as accessories for your barbecue, has also noted an increase in the number of people looking for BBQ recipes on the site, including 2009’s most popular recipe of "Beer Can Up the Bum Chicken".Â
The Beer Can up The Bum Chicken had thousands of hits last summer thanks to its simple to follow recipe, great taste and the wow factor when cooking it in front of BBQ guests.Â
Head Griller at iLoveMyBBQ.com said;Â
“This is an exciting time here at iLoveMYBBQ.com, with summer just being around the corner, it won’t be long until everyone is out cooking up a treat again.Â
“It is important however, that big stores such as B&Q and Homebase realise that there is a trend in people starting to barbecue even as soon as March. The weather is gradually getting brighter and warmer and more and more people will want to cook outside on their barbecue for the entire summer.Â
He continued;Â
“2009 was a great year for us and with new and exciting recipes in the pipeline it looks as though 2010 will be even bigger.â€Â
iLoveMyBBQ.com saw its busiest year in 2009 with record numbers of visitors to the site with 1m unique users logging on during the months of July, August and September. This number is expected to rise during the summer months, as the site has already seen over 600,000 unique users during February alone.Â
www.iLoveMyBBQ.com launched in 2007 as a family, hobby site and independently reviews BBQ tools, gadgets, grills and equipment.Â
